Consumption – Induction (single)

Much as Consumption’s last album “Incredulous Dillusions” their new single “Induction” is very raw and absolutely on the harsher end of death/metal-core music by far. Thankfully, the YouTube video for this is a lyric video so you can keep up with the song because you’d be hard pressed to even know what the vocalist is saying most of the time. Everything about the single is fast paced straight from the beginning and I’ve no doubt hardcore fans of the band will absolutely love it. I also know that there will also be a lot of people bitching about the style … Continue reading Consumption – Induction (single)

The End At The Beginning – Appearances

I know I make a lot of comparisons to Killswitch Engage in my reviews, but I don’t do it without thinking it’s true. And you might’ve guessed by now. . . I believe this band is like ol’ Killswitch. But an inexperienced one to say the least. This band has experience, otherwise they couldn’t make this album, but this is only their debut so they have a long way to go to perfect their skill. They sound really good as a metalcore band don’t get me wrong, but you get what I’m trying to say. At least I hope you … Continue reading The End At The Beginning – Appearances

Icons – Lifesigns EP

Some people may have noticed a pattern among my reviews that I don’t typically do reviews that are from last year. Like to keep the reviews fresh you know? Although I make some exceptions. If an album from say December or November really blow me away I’ll do it (i.e. : “Dead or Alive” from A Breach of Silence). Or if the band and it’s work is more or less unknown. By unknown I mean it’s not available to buy except from one source, not on any internet radio sites, and/or if they got little support on social media sites. … Continue reading Icons – Lifesigns EP

Chelsea Grin – Ashes to Ashes

I have to give the credit of my discovery of Chelsea Grin to my friend Zoë who is a longtime fan of the band. She came to me one day when I was having lunch, and more or less said, “Chelsea Grin has a new album coming, listen to it. Just do it.” So I said, “Alright.” Because why the fuck not? The band sounded different and the way she described them they sounded like a band that I might like because she said they were metalcore. I like metalcore. And I imagine anyone reading this likes metalcore too. But I … Continue reading Chelsea Grin – Ashes to Ashes

Amongst Thieves – Revise. Reform

Metalcore may not always be the best of genres. . . but I like it. It’s different. Now Amongst Thieves is different, but familiar. Their recent EP “Revise. Reform” is a nice short album that is a true metalcore album. The vocals were well done for a metalcore band. They have a good tone and were really in sync with the rest of the band and the lyrics sung had meaning to them that were both uplifting and meaningful. The guitars were heavy, well performed, and had a good rhythm throughout the entire EP. The drums had an excellent beat … Continue reading Amongst Thieves – Revise. Reform
