We Rise the Tides – Legacy (single)

I remember hearing We Rise the Tides for the first time with their last EP, “Death Walk”, being the best deathcore I’ve ever heard by miles and ended being one of my favorite albums of 2014 easily. But it is with actual sadness for me to learn that they have decided to break up and pursue other personal projects (nothing wrong with that at all!), but they have decided to give us fans a farewell present with the single “Legacy”. This song is the most mature and impressive deathcore they’ve done out of doing 2 very nice EP’s, and shows … Continue reading We Rise the Tides – Legacy (single)

Gaillion – Letters from the Skipper (single)

When I say that “Letters from the Skipper” is a free flowing single, I’m not trying to make a pun out of the album cover. This progressive rock song has a very calming feel to it that you don’t normally see in progressive rock because the more progressive side is more of an experimental genre and can have a wide variety of sounds, combinations, and tunes that are more innovative. But Gaillion take a simple route and make this a more calming song as I said and making it ideal for something like a boat ride, as you might be … Continue reading Gaillion – Letters from the Skipper (single)

The Apparition – In Ruins (single)

As the debut single from The Apparition’s upcoming EP “Glass Eyes”, “In Ruins” is what the band said that they “created this EP to show what we have been working and the direction of the band and for bigger things to come.” That’s as good a reason as any for me! And this new EP is shaping up to be a good one judging from how “In Ruins” is (here’s a secret : it’s pretty fucking good). The single is definitely a combination of death metal and thrash metal with the vocals having a deep tone to them and everything else being fast paced … Continue reading The Apparition – In Ruins (single)

1 In Five – Hold On EP

Tell you what. . . I really like some nice flowing rock music with good tunes and a nice beat. 1 In Five had all of that. Personally I thought the opening track “Something In The Water” was the best and it really set the tone for the rest of “Hold On”. The entire EP had a nice flow to it and sounded really nice. Each band member did a real good job and  staying as rock as possible and that made each song sound like a true rock song which I haven’t seen for a little while so it’s … Continue reading 1 In Five – Hold On EP

Consumption – Induction (single)

Much as Consumption’s last album “Incredulous Dillusions” their new single “Induction” is very raw and absolutely on the harsher end of death/metal-core music by far. Thankfully, the YouTube video for this is a lyric video so you can keep up with the song because you’d be hard pressed to even know what the vocalist is saying most of the time. Everything about the single is fast paced straight from the beginning and I’ve no doubt hardcore fans of the band will absolutely love it. I also know that there will also be a lot of people bitching about the style … Continue reading Consumption – Induction (single)

The Haunted – Cutting Teeth (single)

The latest single from The Haunted’s upcoming album “Exit Wounds” is hardcore right from the start. The song wastes no time in relying on a slow build up to an explosion of metal because the explosion happens at the very beginning. And everything is very well done, too. The vocals have an unrelentingly fast pace to them along with the harsh guitars that don’t let up no matter what part of the song they’re at because every moment should be filled with constant metal as it is. And the drums have a fantastic beat to them that are absolutely raw … Continue reading The Haunted – Cutting Teeth (single)

Last Call For Dignity – First Call EP

Anyone who has their life constantly revolve around music knows for an absolute fact that a band’s first EP, first album, first anything is a very important foothold for a band in the music industry. When I heard Last Call For Dignity’s debut EP “First Call” I decided that LC4D (let’s just use that as an acronym) had made a pretty firm foothold that it might help them get signed fairly quick. That’s if they already haven’t, I don’t know. But as with all debuts there is always something that could be improved or made different. For me this time … Continue reading Last Call For Dignity – First Call EP
