Rats of Reality – The Art of Debilitation

Never been a huge fan of neither punk nor any sort of crust, but I’m not afraid to dabble in it every once in a while. I’m sure you may have already guessed at what type of band Rats of Reality is and what genre their latest album is, so I’m just gonna skip over that. “The Art of Debilitation” is a very nice, nice meaning raw in this case, album that only has 4 tracks but with over 12 minutes between them. Three of them are only about 2 1/2 minutes so there’s the punk influencing the song length, … Continue reading Rats of Reality – The Art of Debilitation

Burnchurch (self-titled)

Irish hardcore punk band Burnchurch have an album coming out that is by far the best punk album that I’ve heard so far this year simply because of how raw and intense it is from beginning to end. Now as expected for most punk albums the songs are “short” with the longest being 3 minutes 20 seconds with the shortest being a minute 47 seconds, but that’s hardly a problem for me because as long as the songs are well done and badass, which they are, I can find something to enjoy out them and I did in excess. And … Continue reading Burnchurch (self-titled)

Tarsius Tarsier – Ceremonia de Atadura de Manos

When most of us think of hardcore punk we think of the loud ass in-your-face vocals that some people love but other people can’t stand. This album was more on the positive side for me but it did have its flaws despite it overall being good for me. Personally I think “Ceremonia de Atadura de Manos” felt a bit off pace and it lacked a good feel to it during a few moments throughout the album even though the sound was solid for its majority. I’m not the biggest punk fan there is out there so I’ve never really heard … Continue reading Tarsius Tarsier – Ceremonia de Atadura de Manos

Vickie Vale – Volume 3: A Heart Out of Tune

This post-hardcore punk album is definitely one for those of you out there who enjoy your gritty punk music from a band that also has softer side in the latter half of the album. Now before you go anywhere – the second half isn’t completely soppy and sad music; it was just more prominent in the second half than in the first half. But “Volume 3: A Heart Out of Tune” was a solid album when I listened to it because it really had that emotional factor that I didn’t mind because it wasn’t really overpowering to me. The tone … Continue reading Vickie Vale – Volume 3: A Heart Out of Tune

Dead On TV – Creeper

Sometimes punk rock isn’t all raw and harsh screaming that sounds like something you’d expect the very angry people of the world to be singing. Sometimes it has actually a positive feel to it and something that will lift your spirits even if the actual meanings of the songs aren’t exactly user-friendly from time to time, that’s what Dead On TV’s newest album “Creeper” is to me. It puts a positive sounding twist on punk rock but still keeping the same “vulgarity” as other punk bands, and I know this is a fact because just look at the track list … Continue reading Dead On TV – Creeper

Rats Blood – Low Life

Been a lot of hardcore punk coming in lately .  .  . but that’s far from bad because this is the good end of punk music, and Rats Blood’d newest album “Low Life” is no exception. This 13-track mosh pit inducing album packs a literal punch to any and all listeners who dare listen to this and if you do listen to it then you must really love your punk music and if that’s the case then you won’t be disappointed. All of “Low Life” has a brutal and very raw feel to it that a lot of the good punk bands … Continue reading Rats Blood – Low Life

Disabler – Aggressive Negativity EP

This EP from Disabler is one aggressive album (shocker) that is totally raw to the core and beyond with “Aggressive Negativity” being exactly what it the name says it is : destructive punk that doesn’t end. The pure rage that Disabler puts into this EP is reinforced with the very dark theme that the album is obviously heavily influenced by punk music which gives the album a very hardcore edgy sound that Disabler delivers without a single flaw. I bet “Aggressive Negativity” is an essential album for any of you metal goers who enjoy those bands who sound like they … Continue reading Disabler – Aggressive Negativity EP

Brotherhood – Till Death. . .

Whoever says southern metal, grunge metal, or anything of the sort isn’t could can go shut the hell up now. This reissue of Brotherhood’s “Till Death. . .” is the greatest of that kind of music because it really does sound like a band of rebels that made a band and started playing in the damn garage. The whole album has a real grungy sound to it much like how Leatherneck does with their music by giving it a real edgy and even sandpapery (that’s a word now) feel to it that persists through the entire album and that’s what … Continue reading Brotherhood – Till Death. . .
