Monolord – We Will Burn (single)

 That cover art doesn’t exactly scream but doom metal, but “We Will Burn” from Monolord’s upcoming sophomore album “Vænir” shows that there is much more underneath that the cover art doesn’t portray. This single is a great track in every single way from the beginning and shows that not only will “Vænir” be a proper doom metal album, it will also be an impressive album overall if it’s going to be anything like “We Will Burn”. The track is over 7 minutes long so it’s got that real doom metal feel to it along with the vocals that really hook you in … Continue reading Monolord – We Will Burn (single)

Meridius – Speed Kills (single)

 Coming from Canadian thrash metallers Meridius, “Speed Kills” off of the band’s upcoming self-titled EP is a fast piece of work, as is expected with thrash metal. The single has this real quick, raw sound to it that when you catch some of the lyrics really catches your dreams and slowly twists them into nightmares that will stay with you for the entire song and surely will for the entire 3-track EP when it drops on March 20th. The feel of the song also appeals to us thrash fans who like the speed and the vocals that are fast and … Continue reading Meridius – Speed Kills (single)

Our Last Crusade – Postmodern Man (single)

 “Postmodern Man” off of Our Last Crusade’s upcoming debut “The Ideal & The Actual” is a solid track that is only a teller of good things to come from this album whenever it comes out. The lyrics in this are filled with power from the hardcore vocals that just plow along with the guitars that have a great sound to them and the monstrous drums that have a good beat to them. While “Postmodern Man” isn’t the most fantabulous (yes, fantabulous) song there is out there it is definitely something to check out because it is as I said a … Continue reading Our Last Crusade – Postmodern Man (single)

Every Hour Kills – Almost Human (single)

 Singles, as we all know, are simply preludes to an album which is usually one of the highlights of the album. Well Every Hour Kills’ new single “Almost Human”off their upcoming self-titled EP coming this summer. This song has a great feel to it and anyone who’s listened to the truly higher quality of melodic metal (for example, Disturbed) knows what it feels like to hear the really good shit and its great sound. “Almost Human” has just that. The song has an amazing feel to it that is uplifting and empowering at the same time and it makes you … Continue reading Every Hour Kills – Almost Human (single)

Desecrator – Red Steel Nation (single)

 Hearkening back to the “glory days” of thrash metal, Desecrator’s brand new single “Red Steel Nation” really has brought back that mentality of giving the music power of its own that comes in plentiful heaps. The vocals for this song along go great with the guitars which were fast and will make any fan of this band love instantly the moment this start playing because “Red Steel Nation” is made for thrash metal fans and not just fans of Desecrator alone. Now I personally do not know if this single will be on a future album or is just a stand alone … Continue reading Desecrator – Red Steel Nation (single)

Unbibium – The Coming of Gozer

 I’m not exactly the biggest fan of deathcore simply because I like my death metal as just death metal and my metalcore as just metalcore. I’m not saying deathcore is bad I just like the two factors of this combo as themselves and not smashed together to make some “fresh, new, and amazing”. But Unbibium’s latest single titled “The Coming of Gozer” is such that at the end of the just over 5 minute song it left me sitting here in my fuckin’ computer chair giving this song a solid thumb up in approval. Now again I don’t exactly find … Continue reading Unbibium – The Coming of Gozer

Morgoth – Black Enemy (single)

 I’ll be honest it’s been quite some time since I’ve heard some Morgoth and when I heard that they had released a new single it peaked my metalhead interest. It was released today and it’s already gotten some fans riled up and excited for the band’s next album which will be released some time this year. And I myself am quite excited for the album because this single “Black Enemy” is something of the likes that make your ears prick up and your foot start tapping to the brutal beat. “Black Enemy” tells “that this evil force rests within all … Continue reading Morgoth – Black Enemy (single)

Classic Alien Invasion – Alien Number One (single)

 I’m not usually one for sci-fi metal with all the digital noises that go on all the fucking time. . .  gives me a headache to be honest. But thankfully, this underground band, Classic Alien Invasion, has taken out the majority of all that digitally added sound and focused more on the metal part and that made their third song to be released “Alien Number One” a really solid song for me. Clocking in at just under 5 minutes, this song has a real grunge and rough sound that sounded really good to me because I’m the type of guy who … Continue reading Classic Alien Invasion – Alien Number One (single)

Truth Teller – Tell Me Why (single)

 I’ll say it now, I’m not the biggest fan of emocore. It’s like symphonic metal with me it just never has clicked with my brain. But the brand fucking new band from South Korea, Truth Teller, has taken the (to me) much better route with emocore with their debut song “Tell Me Why” because they (again, to me) have the perfect balance of the type of vocals that are the more harsh and louder that bring in the “emocore” into this mostly post hardcore song. In fact I’m gonna go so far as to say this is probably the perfect … Continue reading Truth Teller – Tell Me Why (single)

Hollow||Bones – Lionheart: Execution (single)

 Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. “The title says ‘Hollow||Bones’ but the cover says ‘Edenborn’”. Well, they changed their name. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. But that’s not the point here. “Lionheart: Execution” is a terrific single from a New York band that I was told is underrated in their area so bad that the person who told me about them said “it actually hurts a little” that a band that she believes it this talented in her eyes doesn’t get the recognition that she thinks they deserve. Well I will be the judge of that! And … Continue reading Hollow||Bones – Lionheart: Execution (single)
