DEATH VOMIT – Gutted by Horrors

20140705-010618-3978373.jpg You know how elephants can produce sounds so low that we need high tech machinery to hear those sounds? Well if the voice of DEATH VOMIT’s (yes, all caps once again) vocalist were any lower than I’d of needed that same shit to hear him because it was so low that for half a second I had to stop and think if I was hearing some singing or an added sound not done by the band themselves. The low, guttural tone of the vocalist matched so well with the guitars that were super heavy, drums that had the perfect beat and rhythm for the band’s style, and even their brutal name. The guitars have an excruciatingly brutal tone and rhythm to them that just puts the “death” into their death metal and just gives it that extra flavor that some bands lack nowadays and DEATH VOMIT has brought that back from the depths and threw it into the mix to properly spice things up with their music. The drums have an absolute vicious pulse to them that’d get almost any death metal lover pounding their feet along with every second of the album without a doubt. And the tone and style of “Gutted by Horrors” just fits the name and cover art perfectly. They both harken back to the origins of death metal that is just pure brutality, hatred, and anger to the core that should permeates every single lyric, note, song, and album that are dubbed to be of the death metal genre. And thankfully DEATH VOMIT pulled this off exceedingly well.

If anyone knows the social media account(s) for DEATH VOMIT please let me know ASAP. I’m not sure if they’re the same one that put out “The Prophecy” and “Eternally Decrepited” because of conflicting information.

  1. Hey – the Death Vomit that released ‘The Prophecy’ and ‘Eternally Deprecated’ are a brutal death metal band from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. They’re a 3 piece band formed in 1995 and are pioneers of Indonesia’s underground metal scene. They toured Australia are few years back and are hoping to tour down under again in 2015 so keep an eye out for them.
