Finsterforst – Mach Dich Frei

 One hour and 14 minutes. One hour and 14 minutes and eight tracks. Holy shit! I’ve rarely been able to come across albums with songs that exceed 10 minutes and pulled it off with the most notable being Inter Arma’s latest album “The Cavern”. Tarsius Tarsier – Ceremonia de Atadura de Manos

 When most of us think of hardcore punk we think of the loud ass in-your-face vocals that some people love but other people can’t stand. This album was more on the positive side for me but it did have its flaws despite it overall being good for me. Steve Saluto – The Silver Skull Legend

 I’ve honestly no idea who Steve Saluto is, but apparently he’s a big deal even though I’ve never ever heard of him before today. But you know what? The Midnight Ghost Train – Cold Was The Ground

 As one of my best friends would say, “Dat cover” (yes. . . “dat”). Embrional – The Devil Inside

 In terms of raw brutality and sheer force, this is probably the best death metal album of this degree since Cannibal Corpse’s “A Skeletal Domain” last year. Thulcandra – Ascension Lost

 As a death and black metal fan I feel like I can say with a degree of confidence that this is a badass album. Norse – Pest

 I honestly never thought that black metal could get better than it has been for a while. Norse’s new upcoming album “Pest” is a bold new beginning that no doubt spells a new beginning for black metal everywhere simply because of how amazingly well done “Pest” is. The Bowery – Adapt

 This is most likely my favorite technical metal album (EP in this instance) for the year so far purely because of how awesome of a sound The Bowery has created for their upcoming EP “Adapt”. Au-Dessus (self-titled)

 I’ve never been the biggest fan of post black metal before because it honestly just puts me to sleep half the time.  This cover practically screams the genre: death metal.
