Obedience to Dictator – Hogzilla

 Brutal death metal has never really been my favorite kind of death metal, but I’ve always been willing to check it out for curiosity’s sake. And thank God (or Satan, whatever) that “Hogzilla” by Obedience to Dictator is something that I could really listen to even though I’m still not crazy over it. Deconsecrate – Nothing Is Sacred

 I don’t think I have to convince you that Deconsecrate holds nothing back because . . . well . . . you see the fucking cover art. Generally, the cover the visual representation of the album, and “Nothing Is Sacred” is no different. Dystrophy – Wretched Host

 I think anyone who sees that album cover can all immediately agree that this is death metal without a doubt. But it’s not normal death metal, otherwise it wouldn’t be nearly as interesting. While still retaining that feel of old school death metal, Dystrophy brings a 5-string electric violin into the mix. Albeit it’s only heard on the opening and closing tracks, it’s still interesting enough and very unique compared to what you’d hear from a not so unique death metal album. Cattle Decapitation – The Anthropocene Extinction

 I remember hearing the intro track, “Manufactured Extinct”, off of this album months ago and thinking “I cannot fucking wait for this album!” Thankfully, those words weren’t said with false hope as Cattle Decapitation’s newest album “The Anthropocene Extinction” is more than I could’ve fucking wanted. Despite – Praedonum (single)

 Despite is one of those bands for me that no matter they pump out, I manage to love it. Their last EP, “Epic”, was fucking amazing and so was their last single, “Chaos Trigger”. Now this 6-man, 8-stringed melodic death metal band has done it again with their brand new song “Praedonum”. Carnivora – The Vision

Countless Skies – Solace (single)

Dalkhu – Descend… Into Nothingness

 It is simply amazing when just two people come together to make something that even 4 or 5 people can’t even when given all the time in the world to do so. Corpse Garden – Entheogen

Cradle of Filth – Hammer of the Witches
