Ashes In Vein (self-titled)

 I completely agree with this EP. Now, I will say that I don’t love it with every fiber of my being, but I did really enjoy listening to Ashes In Vein’s upcoming self-titled melodic metal album simply because of its awesomely rough sound and its gritty sandpaper-like feel to it that it has in each of the 4 tracks. It just sounds great for what it is. Visigoth – The Revenant King

 Interesting cover art. Now as you’ve probably guessed already this album is medieval themed albeit in just theme and it doesn’t really cross over into the over sound and feel of the album. Almøst Human – Ø

 It would appear that underground metal has a healthy surplus of kickass melodic metal bands that are now slowly crossing my radar and the latest one that I’ve found is Almøst Human’s “Ø”. Fallen Theory – Ghost

 Melodic metalcore is filled to the brim with good artists that utilize screaming vocals and softer vocals to their full potential, and Naslow doesn’t disappoint. With songs long enough to satisfy people that like their stuff over 5 minutes, Naslow’s debut self-titled EP is a lengthy and interesting piece of work that should be enough to satisfy just about any metalcore lover. Affiance – Blackout

 I’ve never heard of Affiance or either of their first two albums, but “Blackout” absolutely blows it out of the water for me. The album is very catchy but it avoids having a poppy sound to it that sometimes doesn’t mix well with metal and can screw it up for many people but that is not the case here. Affiance manages to avoid that and still making “Blackout” one great piece of melodic metal that I’ve no doubt many people will enjoy.  I don’t know what it is with these Northern European countries like Finland and Sweden but goddamn can they make some awesome metal! Soulnerve – The Dying Light

 If melodic thrash metal wasn’t a thing before it certainly is now. Prayed and Betrayed – The Abundance of a Sickened Mind
