A new name in the scene is far from an uncommon occurrence. We’re constantly bombarded by the arrival of fresh bands coming out of the woodwork to show us what they’re made of, but it’s not often whatsoever that we find ourselves before talent that manages to not just capitalize on the potential of a new sound but leave listeners clamoring for more. It’s a sort of intoxication that we only ever receive on a rare basis, but the execution of a truly exceptional piece from a name virgin to our eyes and ears is almost always worth the wait. While they’re doing anything but reinventing the sound, it’s with their ferocious blend of death and black metal that Ignobleth puts forth a performance we can really sink our teeth into.

This is terror made manifest. There isn’t so much as an inch of this record that isn’t devilishly designed to either get right underneath your skin and fester or pummel you outright into a featureless mass of pulsating red meat on the floor that is somehow begging for more. Black-death metal like this can oftentimes feel like a dime a dozen, but when the right talent comes around with the proper mindset alongside a well-founded approach, then damn near anything can be possible. Throughout the whole of “Manor of Primitive Anticreation”, Ignobleth makes its proper entrance into the underground with such grandeur and menace that one cannot help but become flattened by all that’s brought forth. A terrible onslaught of sinister riffage, terrorizing interludes, and a full-scale weaponization of darkness incarnate, this is the sort of record that this genre is always capable of throwing down, with Ignobleth undoubtedly the perfect vessel to bring it into this pathetic plane of existence. Perfectly capable of both blistering speed and a methodical pace that shows just how intent and confident is in every step of Ignobleth with “Manor of Primitive Anticreation” being an impressive bound forward that is sure to catch the attention of any and all who are looking for a fascinating name in the world of black-death.

At any given time, there are legions of names looking to gain a foothold in the cutthroat underground with few making the cut. For all intents and purposes, Ignobleth does far more than merely make the cut with all that’s put forth here. A truly fiery display of power the likes of which one could come back to over and over again, driven by dark infatuation, “Manor of Primitive Anticreation” consistently makes itself known as anything but a passive album that lets you escape unscathed much less alive.
