As one, Mr. Bison has been on an undeniable rise over the years with their forthcoming EP showcasing the growth the band has undergone to dramatic effect.
Hands down, heavy psychedelic rock has got to be one of the most fantastically diverse sound that I’ve come before in recent years. The genre is three words long, but it is each and every one of those words that give each band a ton of leeway when it comes to what direction any artist may want to take their sound in. Two bands of the genre can sound extremely different with acts like Mr. Bison having made it clear long ago that they know what they’re doing along every step of the way with creations like “The Garden of Forgotten Dreams” proving to us yet again that this is a band with real magic laced into its very DNA. Transporting the listener to a magical realm where dreams are literally made manifest where those who enter rediscover lost pieces of themselves, Mr. Bison offers the listener nothing short of a spectacular experience that taps into only the finest aspects of the sound that this band has cultivated over the years. A bright and colorful soundscape where anything feels possible, this wondrous garden feels genuinely alive. Filled with dreams unfulfilled and unspoken wishes, it’s through their pristine sense of psychedelia alongside an incredibly measured heaviness that “The Garden of Forgotten Dreams” delivers excellence on virtually all fronts.
Mr. Bison has been on the rise for years now for all the right reasons, and this record only perpetuates that momentum. The competition in this scene is undeniably stiff given all the talent that has cropped up over the years and continues to deliver on damn near every front, but it’s thanks to records like “The Garden of Forgotten Dreams” that Mr. Bison still holds a big part in that conversation.
