Dissector – Grey Anguish

This new album from the tiny, tiny Russian band Dissector is literally like seeing the treasure amongst the junk. “Grey Anguish” is a death/thrash metal piece that is definitely worth listening to because it’s got all that you want from that kind of metal other than the face that is doesn’t have a voice so deep it would cause scorpions to explode. But other than that, Dissector has pretty much hit the nail right on the head with this album because it has an amazing sound to it that I really enjoyed simply because it was done very well and … Continue reading Dissector – Grey Anguish

Whorion – The Reign of the 7th Sector

I’m not usually the biggest fan of symphonic metal with only a few bands of the genre out there that I know of that are actually good, but Whorion has gone with combining symphonic metal with technical and death metal to create something that I can really, really enjoy listening to. “The Reign of the 7th Sector” is an in-your-face album that is heavy and intense in several ways, but because I’m a lazy bastard I’m just going to say the vocals and the guitars because throughout the entire album they’re loud, they’re hardcore, and they will not give you … Continue reading Whorion – The Reign of the 7th Sector

Forcefed Horsehead – Hunting Witches

In terms of raw brutality, Forcefed Horsehead have stepped down when it comes to their cover art design, but their music has increased compared to their last album, “Deux”. It has to me, anyway, but I digress. “Hunting Witches” while being mainly death metal also has a tinge of punk thrown into the mix and you can see this a lot with the lengths of all the tracks with the longest only being a minute and 13 seconds. Each song is an absolute punch to the face one after another and it never stops for one goddamn second. The brutal … Continue reading Forcefed Horsehead – Hunting Witches

Vasomortus – Instrument Torture of Pyramid

Brutal death metal is something that not a lot of bands can make sound good and make it something that it can be heard by just normal metal fans like myself. Vasomortus’ debut album “Instrument Torture of Pyramid” is a brutal (obviously) album that really cranks up the death metal as their genre is wont to do, but they refine their’s in a way that while I still couldn’t understand shit of what was being said, I still found the brutality of it to be amazing and wondrous at once. Down to the cover art this album is a deadly … Continue reading Vasomortus – Instrument Torture of Pyramid

Cognitive (self-titled)

I think that just by looking at the cover art that we can all agree that this is some intense death metal. Cognitive’s self-titled debut album really shows that this band has a goal: to make the best death metal that they can while emphasizing the “death” as much as possible. And so far with this album, they’re doing pretty damn good. This album straight from the get-go comes out at you with all guns blazing, kicking names, and making your goddamn ears bleed. Each song off of this is hardcore and intense in every sort of way when it … Continue reading Cognitive (self-titled)

Feared – My Grief, My Sorrow (single)

I still remember the first time I heard Feared’s fourth album, “Vinter”, almost a year ago and feeling the awesomeness that Feared is and the talent that they have, and I thought they couldn’t get any better. Well, now they’re back with their fifth full length album and it shows me that I haven’t been more wrong about anything else in my life. Their new single “My Grief, My Sorrow” that they just released today is as great as their previous releases and demonstrates that Feared have not lost their touch one bit. This song is heavy, it deals with … Continue reading Feared – My Grief, My Sorrow (single)

Witch of the Waste – Made of Teeth

When a band this unknown puts out an album as hardcore and insane as this it only shows that Witch of the Waste has the talent of veterans when it comes down to making an amazing album. “Made of Teeth” is what it sounds like – an absolutely raw album that is filled with brutality that is relentless in each and every song. From the very beginning of this EP it is clear that Witch of the Waste have come to make a point and that point is thaty’re a force to be reckoned with and has come to kick … Continue reading Witch of the Waste – Made of Teeth

Krueger – Return to Death

When people talk about a band of today that does old school death metal does it right I want their first goddamn thought to be Krueger’s upcoming “Return to Death” because this album has the whole fucking nine yards when it comes down to old school death done fantastically. This album has all the works down to the cover art with the vocals ripping through your ears after the guitars and drums tenderize your headset and then your brain itself. Just the raw, brutal feel of this album is something that a lot of bands have, yes, but forming it … Continue reading Krueger – Return to Death

Theories – Regression

From now on whenever I think of raw metal I will think of Theories’ debut album “Regression” because this shit is more raw than steak still attached to a live cow. This album from the very beginning is extremely fast paced and brings the feel of death metal alongside the hardcore grind metal that is ever so present throughout the entirety of “Regression” with the super intense vocals that are some of the most intense I’ve heard for a while that went so well with guitars that seem like they’re purposely made to create a sound that will make ears … Continue reading Theories – Regression

Veld – Daemonic: The Art of Dantalian

An album that is seven years in the making is bound to build up some sort of hype, and even more when the album is said to take influence from bands like Behemoth and Decapitated. Veld has done all of that and pulled it off fantastically with their upcoming death metal album “Daemonic: The Art of Dantalian” because this entire album is heavy. It’s fast. It’s loud. It’s fucking badass. The fact that the album does sound like a mash-up between Behemoth and Decapitated just makes it all the more better with its brutally gruesome feel to it with the harsh vocals … Continue reading Veld – Daemonic: The Art of Dantalian
